One of my favourite places to visit is the 2 villages of Lynton and Lynmouth on the edge of Exmoor as it meets the sea. Follow the signs to Lynton (it takes about 30 minutes drive from Ilfracombe) park and take the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway to Lynmouth. Plenty to see and do and the kids (big and small) will just love messing around on the beach and hopping on the rocks in the stream. The scenery is spectacular, try a walk to the National trust´s Watersmeet Estate where the steep wooded valley can be walked.
